year. The Wausau Invite remains on the schedule and while I have not consulted
the coaches about this race, I would expect it to be run if our snow conditions

Here's a quick update on the snow conditions at Nine Mile in anticipation of this weekend's running of the Snekkevik. I was out there last night and the classic conditions were actually very good. After a warm day, the tracks were very firm in the evening when I skied. It was a busy night out there with the high school teams and Night Gliders holding their practices as well as about 75 people taking adult lessons. The conditions held up extremely well on the lighted loops where most of this action took place. Of course, we all have been keeping an eye on the forecast and there are predictions for warmer weather and possible rain. We have lined up our Bud Light bottles and will be trying to create a parallel force that pushes any wet stuff away from NIne Mile so as not to cause damage to the base that has been established. I'll try to get an update on Friday out to everyone via this channel on conditions so you know what to expect on Saturday.

Hey Birkie Veterans - remember you can still sponsor a deserving HS athlete to ski the Korte for only $60. Your contribution is TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Make your check payable to WINN (Wisconsin Nordic Network) and mail to WINN Anne Riendl, 2907 Farmview CT, Waukesha, WI 53188-4460. To participate in the program, a coach or advisor forwards the name of the skier that he/she selected to Phil Johnsrud at Iola who coordinates the list with the Birkie office.
